Ashtanga Yoga Edinburgh established in 2008 offers a daily Mysore style program both AM & PM, led classes, beginners courses and online options for all levels in the tradition of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga as taught in Mysore, India.

Hillside Yoga Collective is a collective built with AYE to represent offering beyond the Ashtanga Vinyasa lineage.

Community lies a the core of what we do and you’ll find our home is built just for that.

Our Values.

Inclusion

We guide your practice to improve your quality life, making you feel better in your body and mind and improving relationships with those around you. In the Mysore room we can cater for your individual needs and adjust and adapt postures to suit your body type.

Authenticity

Our teaching combines physical practice with traditional elements of Sanskrit, chanting, and ancient yogic philosophy. Remaining true to the authentic roots of this mindful way of living.

Empowerment

We strongly believe that your yoga asana practice can move beyond the physical, it's also about the lessons we take off the mat, the mental strength and stability and the understanding of breath to support us in our everyday lives.

Community

Community is at our heart, we welcome you in where we teach you how to build long term daily yoga practices that are sustainable, challenging, exciting and appropriate for you right now, and as life changes.

Reviews

“The mysore practice has given me a new sense of purpose and belonging, both in community and especially in my own body. Each morning I leave the session feeling empowered for the day, with strength, resilience and motivation. I am grateful to Emma and the other teachers for sharing their wisdom, helping me to adapt the sequence and postures, and for welcoming me in as a new student.”
